The Contender is a single-handed trapeze dinghy. It is an International, 'One-Design' class suitable for sailors aged 15 to 75 years of age.  Boats are built in both timber and fibreglass with carbon spars. The Contender was designed Bob Miller (Ben Lexcen) with BSC being the first club from which the boats were sailed.

You can purchase a second hand boat for between $2000 and $10,000.
