At Balmoral Sailing Club (BSC), we are dedicated to providing a child-safe and child-friendly environment where young sailors feel respected and protected. Our policy ensures that child safety is central to every decision we make, across all programs, training camps, and regattas. We strictly comply with the NSW Child Safe Standards and the Australian Sailing Child Safeguarding Policy to maintain the highest protection levels.
All officials, instructors, and volunteers in child-related roles must hold a mandatory Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance. We empower our young members to have a voice in decisions that affect them, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion. Our club enforces a strict Code of Conduct that mandates appropriate behavior, including privacy protections in changerooms.
A dedicated Child Safety Officer serves as the primary contact for any concerns, ensuring a responsive and safe community. We are committed to transparency and accountability, with documented procedures to protect children from any harm or neglect. Ongoing training and regular policy reviews ensure that our safety practices always meet or exceed legal requirements. Our goal is to provide a secure space where your children can enjoy sailing with complete confidence and peace of mind.
