Balmoral Sailing Club welcomes new members.

The club has five major membership categories. We encourage membership of families and our fees are structured to ensure that all members of a family can afford to participate as members with the Club.

  • A family comprises the spouse and immediate children of an applicant. The children need to qualify as 'Junior' members in terms of the description below.
  • A senior is a person over 18 years of age.
  • A junior is a person who is 18 years or under as at 1 September of the year in which fees are due. A junior member under the age of 16 years must have an associated adult member in any of the other membership categories: family, senior, race official or social.
  • A race official is usually a volunteer who donates his or her services to the Club (i.e. Race Control, Safety Patrol, etc.) and does not sail regularly.
  • A social member is a person who does not sail in club races or events, is not a race official and is not involved in the administration of the club.

Only financial members of BSC can compete and be awarded points in the club's sailing events.

There is a Senior and Junior Boat Owner’s fee which covers all your weekly race entry fees.
  • If the boat to be registered is helmed by a person who qualifies as a Senior member, then the Senior Boat Owner’s Fee is payable.
  • If the boat to be registered is helmed by a person who qualifies as a Junior member, then the lower Junior Boat Owner’s Fee is payable.

Balmoral Sailing Club is affiliated with Australian Sailing, the national sporting organisation (NSO) for sailing, and peak body for recreational boating at Clubs, in Australia. When you join BSC you will be issued with an Australian Sailing number which allows you to participate in all association sailing events.

Please complete the details below which will take you to the Australian Sailing membership application form.

Once your Proposer and Seconder (who must be financial members of Balmoral Sailing Club) have confirmed your nomination with the Membership Officer, your application will be put to the Board. When your membership is ratified, the Membership Officer will then invoice you for the fees due and payable.

Racks are available for members that sail regularly. You may apply for a rack at the same time as membership application.

Balmoral SC is an Active Kids program provider. The NSW Government provides two $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards registration and membership fees for sport and active recreation each year. From 1 July 2019, parents, guardians and carers can apply for the second $100 Active Kids voucher. Voucher one is valid January to December and Voucher two is valid July to December.
