We Welcome Volunteers
We welcome volunteers and especially for our race management team. We have three boats on the water each race day, mostly Saturdays, a start boat and two support boats. The support power boats have a qualified driver and one crew member. Start boat has a Race Officer and upto three other volunteers who take on the roles of timekeeper, flags operator and results recorder.
If you’re a sailor or just inspired to help out at our sailing club please consider joining us. You will have a wonderful day on the water and the opportunity to watch the racing. We provide training and help to obtain a power boat license. Each season we conduct safety briefings and organise First Aid Certificate training.
As a volunteer you become a member as a Race Official for just $15 a year. The club pays your Australian Sailing levee which provides additional benefits.
We ask Power Boat volunteers to obtain a Working With Children Number which is an easy on-line process.
If you would like to see whats involved, come out for a day on the power boats and see how the Club operates from the water. Meet the sailors and volunteers and their families and friends in the clubhouse at the pre-race briefings and for some post-race catchups.
Race managagement volunteers are rostered in advance, we require a minimum monthly commitment, many enjoy coming out more often.
